North Carolina Waterfall Engagement Session

Shay and Issac, true outdoor enthusiasts, spent their engagement session waking up early to meet up for a hike to a 50ft waterfall. Shay and Issac have the best story EVER of how they got together….they met thru hiking the Appalachian Trail! They kept passing each other at different points on the trail and finally got a chance to chat. Once they did, they spent a majority of the remaining miles getting to know each other and begin their relationship.

Of course the mountains hold a special place in their hearts so while I usually help couples choose a location for their session they already had this epic spot picked out. We spent a couple hours hiking, crossing streams, picnicking and exploring the waterfall. Including jumping in the water for the last part of their session! They generously shared their snacks and their story with me and I left feeling so fulfilled.

While I love the end result of my job, beautiful images that capture authentic images of your relationship, I also really love the process of getting to meet new people, hear their stories, share a meal and have fun outdoors. Those connections are always what stick with me the most.
