Linville Gorge Bride and Groom Portraits

Due to a possible deployment Hailee and Casey had to move their wedding up by a couple of months, so they were just going to do something small with friends and family that winter, as sometimes these things sometimes happen! But since they value the outdoors so much, it was also important to them to have photos taken that really represented them and their love of nature. Willing to travel to North Carolina, they reached out to me to do an adventure session a few weeks before their wedding. So they packed up their wedding attire and headed to our beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in the Linville Gorge during prime fall colors!

As two who spend most weekends in the great outdoors it was a joy to show them one of my favorite trails that they ohh and ahh-ed over and to no surprise Hailee spent most of the session barefoot while the wind whipped her hair. The weather was absolutely perfect and there was an energy between Hailee and Casey that was simultaneously calm while also buzzing with excitement and they got to adventure in their wedding clothes and dream about being married in a few weeks. As we wrapped up and hiked back to our cars, Hailee and Casey shared how almost every week they go to REI to collect sale items to one day start a business teaching people how to recreate in the outdoors for those who are interested but may feel intimated by the learning curve. They especially love rock climbing, and you could clearly hear the passion in their voices. It’s so incredible to get to photograph such wonderful humans but it’s even more inspiring to get to hear their stories.
