BOONE, NORTH CAROLINA ELOPEMENT LOCATIONS

These are just a couple of my favorite elopement spots in Boone. I will help you with more specific location scouting once we have a chance to chat about what you want and what is important to you! We can discuss longer or shorter trails, easier or harder trails, lesser-known trails with more privacy, ones with specific features, ones better suited for a specific season, or how to do multiple locations for your day.

  • hawksbill mountain

This is a fun hike and gorgeous rock outcrop south of Boone with views of the Linville Gorge. Check out this elopement at Hawksbill.

  • ROAN MOUNTAIN STATE PARK

Roan Mountain offers a ridge-top hike across grassy balds; these are wide open mountain tops without any trees or coverage so you are surrounded by views and less people. It also has a stunning display of rhododendrons flowers in June. It is right over the Tennessee border but well worth the drive. Check out this North Carolina engagement session at Roan Mountain.

  • WISEMAN’S VIEW

This spot only requires a short, easy walk to the viewpoint, where you’ll find striking views of the Linville Gorge and distant Blue Ridge peaks.

WHERE TO STAY FOR YOUR BOONE INTIMATE WEDDING

These are some of my favorite places to stay in Boone for your North Carolina elopement! Even better–if you’re looking to invite a few guests and have an intimate Blue Ridge Mountain wedding, consider having the celebration at an Airbnb or VRBO. We can head outdoors to hike and find other beautiful views for portraits after the ceremony! Keep in mind that the fall is considered peak season around the Blue Ridge Mountains, so lodging can be tough to find–be sure to think ahead.

Rhodes Motor Lodge - Brand new mountain lodge giving Colorado vibes. And it’s dog friendly!

The Gideon Ridge Inn - Incredible bed and breakfast with on site restaurant and views.

Mast Farm Inn - Cozy relaxed bed and breakfast with delicious food and farm animals.

A-Frame - I’m obsessed with this one tucked in the woods but minutes from downtown Boone! The interior decor is perfect.

Norwegian Inspired A-frame - Take a peek at the styled shoot we did here!

The Horton Hotel - Downtown Boone with a rooftop bar.

things to do in boone

One of my favorite things about a Blue Ridge Mountains elopement is that there is so much exploring to do in the nearby areas! Here are a few ideas for fun things to do before and after your Boone elopement:

Celebrate your love and new life together in the best way possible, adventuring, and creating memories you’ll never forget.

  • Rent a canoe! You can do so at Price Lake.

  • Experience the trails on horseback on a guided ride at Banner Elk Stables.

  • White water rafting at High Mountain Expeditions is something I highly recommend if you’ve never been! It is such a blast and makes the perfect addition to your summer weekend adventure!

  • If you’re a thrill-seeker, look no further than the Hawksnest Zipline Tour!

  • Make a piece of pottery to remember your wedding weekend by at The Pottery Lot!

Or include your guest list and plan a camp-themed wedding continuing the fun all weekend long!

Gideon Ridge

Frugal Gourmet Catering

Casa Rustica

Or work with your planner to create a luxury picnic for just the two surrounded by nature.
