Picnic in the Mountains - Boone, North Carolina Engagement Session

If ya’ll remember when I launched at the beginning of this year, I hosted a giveaway where one couple would win photography coverage for their wedding. Little did I know how lucky I was when these two won! I remember chatting with Kaitlin shortly after telling her the news, we were discussing her ideas for the day when she told me she was having a hard time finding a venue because everything felt so transactional and she really wanted people a part of her day that were excited and actually cared about them. That’s when I knew we’d be getting along just fineee.

I believe it is SO important that you take the time to find people that care. About you, your day, your love. They aren’t just in it to make money. It truly makes all the difference.

Kaitlin and Seth live right near the Blue Ridge Parkway and spend plenty of time exploring the mountains in their backyard so it was only fitting they would have their engagement session there. Kaitlin planned the perfect picnic, complete with champagne and orange juice for making mimosas, which ultimately they had to chug the champagne since we couldn’t recorck it.

They even brought enough food and Cheerwine for me to enjoy too, HOW SWEET are they?! We then spent the whole time exchanging stories and laughing so hard. They are the kind that clearly have fun no matter what they’re doing and make the best out of every situation. The kind of people you want to spend your time with. I left that session feeling so lucky and more excited for their wedding day because I know it’s gonna be a dang good time.
