Summer Sunrise Engagement Session in Boone

Maggie had found me on Instagram and we kept in touch until she moved to North Carolina, where I got to photograph her engagement session a whole year later! Truly, instagram is one of my favorite ways to meet new people. The Blue Ridge Parkway was special to them as they would spend weekends driving and exploring along the parkway. I love being able to photograph a couple in a place that is special to them or marks a certain time in their lives.

Due to the summer heat and busy nature of the parkway we met up right as the sky was starting to lighten up as sunrise approached, and we were met with nice cool weather and the whole view to ourselves. It’s why I’m always an advocate of sunrise timing! Even the most popular spots can be pretty quite in the early morning hours. We soaked in the morning sun together and took our time enjoying the lush green views.
