Luxury Mountain Cabin Elopement in Asheville

Julia and Kyle rented this incredible luxury cabin nestled in the mountains for their summer wedding where they could celebrate all weekend with their family. I love that more often, couples who are including guests, are utilizing entire weekends for their celebrations and renting one large accommodation so they can spend more quality time with them. Perk? The dogs get to join too! Definitely here for this trend! And please know, if you hire me and your dog is part of your wedding, there will be a LOT of photos of them!

Julia and Kyle spent their full wedding day at their cabin, the Legacy Lodge, which allowed them to minimize logistics and be able to have a very laid back day. They even brought in a private chef to handle dinner which was served on the patio by the pool. Julia did the tables herself and I was so impressed with the execution of her vision!

A lot of my couples want candids with their guests, but for that to happen it is vital that you have enough time in your timeline for candid moments to unfold naturally. If we are rushing from one thing to the next, it will be almost impossible to capture candid moments. There needs to be space. Space transitioning from one major part of the day to the next, space to chit chat and laugh, space to feel the emotions of the day. This happens with intentionally building your timeline to allow for this. This is the case regardless if it’s just the two of you or with guests in attendance. For Julia and Kyle, from the get go, it was important to them to have time with their guests and their dogs and I loved that they were intentional about this when it came to planning their day. And then once their day arrived, they leaned into it, they just went with the flow, and were able to relax and enjoy, so that candid moments could unfold.

This was especially sweet since Julia had Kyle’s family were intertwined. Julia had been best friends with Kyle’s sister since they were 5! Over the years they all grew closer and at dinner time, the stories poured out of memories from all the years they’d known each other. They may have even argued over who knew first when Julia and Kyle FINALLY did get together.

Here is what Julia + Kyle had to say:

Erika is THE best!!!!! We cannot say enough good things about her and her work! Our engagement photos and our wedding photos turned out better than we could have ever imagined. She makes the whole process so fun and easy that you almost forget that she's behind a camera and not just there hanging out with you during your session. Big plus, she's a dog lover! Our dogs loved her, too! Erika has the kindest soul and we cannot recommend her enough!! 1000000/10 stars for her!
