I know wedding planning can be overwhelming and trying to google venues can be exhausting, so I hope this helps you get excited about the planning process and see all the amazing venues out there. These venue options are based purely on my research as possible options for your wedding day and are meant to help you jumpstart your own research. While I have not yet photographed at these venues I would love to do so, with YOU! I spend my summers in Colorado so that I can optimize capturing people’s weddings during one of the best seasons to get married in the Colorado mountains! These small wedding venues are great options for including guests, keeping things intimate, and enjoying the beautiful scenery Colorado has to offer.
#1. Juniper Mountain House
𖡡 Evergreen, Colorado
Juniper Mountain House is located on 10-acres surrounded by peaceful woods overlooking the foothills of Evergreen. The house is made up of 5 bedrooms, 2 decks, 2 lounges, a bar, an outdoor fire pit and a hot tub. In addition to all those amenities, there are even private hiking trails on-site!
You can have your ceremony in a private meadow surrounding by trees or on their newly renovated mountain view deck. Throughout the house and around the property, there are unique spaces intentionally designed to celebrate an smaller wedding celebration. This is the perfect wedding venue for couples looking to a have a truly intimate experience with their closest family and friends!

#2. Gorrono Ranch
𖡡 Telluride, Colorado
Gorrono Ranch is a rustic mountain wedding venue set in the San Juan mountain range with Wilson Mountain Range as its backdrop. During the winter, its a popular dining lodge for skiers and snowboarders but in the summer, it’s a beautiful mountain wedding venue! You can choose from one of its many outdoor patios for your ceremony and reception space. In addition to the main lodge, there are two smaller cabins that are the perfect getting ready spaces!
Hoping to have a magical winter wonderland wedding? You can still get married here in the winter! Since it’s in the mountains surrounded by snow, guests will be transported by snowcat to the venue. The lodge is a cozy place for an intimate winter wedding while still having stunning mountain views!

#3. North Star Gatherings
𖡡 Idaho Springs, Colorado
North Star Gathering is probably the most accessible mountain in Colorado. Being only about 30 minutes outside of Denver in Idaho Springs, it’s the perfect mix of feeling secluded in the mountains yet close to lots of things to do in the city and beyond!
This modern mountain wedding venue sits on 35-acres in the Arapaho National Forest. Every space at the venue offers 360 degree mountain views. From the outdoor ceremony deck overlooking the Continental Divide to the Great Hall lined with floor to ceiling windows. In addition to these beautiful spaces, they offer another deck for cocktails and two different getting ready spaces.

#4. Surf Hotel & Chateau
𖡡 Buena Vista, Colorado
Surf Hotel & Chateau is a European-style boutique hotel in the Rocky Mountains. This venue is the perfect place to get married, no matter the season or the weather! The Surf Hotel offers a few beautiful courtyard spaces in addition to the main Ivy Ballroom. While it offers multiple outdoor ceremony locations on-site, there are a few different locations you can choose from nearby, including Twin Lakes!
This is the perfect wedding venue for couples looking for a “one stop shop”. Not only can you get ready on-site, say “I do”, and celebrate your reception, but all your guests can stay on site. Plus, this boutique hotel has delicious on-site catering from their restaurant, Wesley & Rose.
My favorite time of year to get married here is in the fall since the entire property is lined with beautiful Aspen trees!

#5. The Wilmont at Gold Mountain Ranch
𖡡 Ouray, Colorado
The Wilmont is a luxurious ranch house located in the heart of the 1,200 acres of Gold Mountain Ranch. The property offers stunning 360 degree mountain views in what’s known as the “Switzerland of America.” You can choose from a variety of outdoor spaces to host your wedding, from the ceremony to the reception. These views are absolutely incredible!
Depending on the size of your wedding, you and your wedding party could all stay on-site for the wedding weekend. While the rest of your guests staying nearby in the adorable mountain town of Ouray. This ranch house boasts some of the most iconic small wedding venue views in all of Colorado!

The A-Frame Club is a collection of mid-century inspired cabins that sit on a 2-acres in the heart of Old Town Winter Park between the Fraser River and Winter Park Ski Resort. It’s the perfect balance of a peaceful retreat while still being surrounded by endless outdoor activities year-round. This could be the ideal small wedding venue for couples looking for a ultimate “summer camp” wedding weekend vibe but in a more mountain modern, aesthetic way!
In addition to their 31 beautiful A-frame cabins, they have an on-site saloon, restaurant, and event lawn. They’re all located in close proximity to each other, along the river, perfect for a summer wedding celebration!

#7. Treehaus
𖡡 Blackhawk, Colorado
Treehaus is unique wedding venue located in a private forest. The main ceremony space is outside surrounded by trees with a creek nearby. The reception space is in a small greenhouse with a funky disco design. In addition to those spaces, they also have two getting ready spaces, including one that’s a vintage Airstream!
This is the perfect venue for couples looking for a unique take on a beautiful, outdoorsy small wedding. Plus, it’s a dog friendly so your furry loved one can be there to celebrate with you!
