Intimate Coffee Shop Wedding - Norfolk, Virginia
I knew we’d be friends the moment I read in her inquiry email “We aren’t having a bridal party #rebels.” Yes, girl. You just go on and be rebels. This wedding was so unique because it was such a reflection of who they are - I mean that denim jacket, so stinking cool. Can I redo my wedding day just to wear one of those?!
They spent the morning of their wedding day together getting coffee and running last minute errands. She said she just wanted to spend the morning with her best friend. I can’t. The sweetness! By the time I showed up, it was just Nicole, her mom and stepdad, hanging out in a hotel room and it was so quiet and peaceful.
When we headed to their first look they weren’t even worried about the rain starting to drizzle. Trey’s reaction when he saw her was just priceless. Again, almost making me cry. Wanting privacy, they decided to read their written vows during the first look which resulted in the sweetest smiles and giggles. I love that they chose to have this special moment just between the two of them.
Then the ceremony was held in a coffee shop/farm to table restaurant with exposed brick and artwork all over the walls. They were married by the grooms best friend and were so elated recessing down the aisle, ready to party.
Spread around the reception where the cheekiest signs cracking up everybody. (But also, how sweet was it that she had included us on her sign - that means SO much to a photographer!) The funniest part probably came after cutting the cake - the groom who had his own cake because he is vegan - took the whole cake and I’m pretty sure he didn’t share one bite. As the night ended, Nicole hit the dance floor in her birkenstocks. Nicole and Trey, ya’ll crushed it.
Thank you to all the vendors that helped this day come together!
